Compost Happens: Compost 101. Lori Caldwell from the Bay Friendly Coalition will be here to show you how easy it is to create your own rich compost from kitchen scraps. The talk will include a demonstration and handouts. Free class.
11 AM-4 PM Taste The Flavors Of The Valley
Honey tasting with Gerard’z Honeybees. Ed Zawada will bring his honey for you to sample including local Pleasanton and Livermore. The kids will love the live bee hive.
Ginger brown of Airsdream Deli will be here sampling flavored goat cheese made locally. She uses fresh, simple and wholesome ingredients. This cheese can only be found at farmers markets, wineries and special events…like ours.
Kathy Elliot of Hillcrest Ranch, will be here to sample her award winning olive oil harvested from 125 year-old olive trees grown on the Pleasanton ridge.
1-3 PM
The folks from StopWaste.org will be here to promote landscaping the bay friendly way with an emphasis on lawn conversion. Use less water and chemicals. Sop by their table and pick up some valuable information
We will also have plant displays: butterfly garden, hummingbird garden, drought tolerant plants, bird attractors are some of the themes.
